    About

Sandra Mujinga presents a large exhibition in the basement of the museum. Over the years, Mujinga has developed a practice that uses speculative fiction and worlding to explore alternatives to our current society. In this line, she deals with topics such as visibility and invisibility in relation to socio-political issues, posthumanism and Blackness. These topics are interconnected in a world that we can hardly comprehend, because both technological developments and nature are often too complex to truly understand or control. In her work, she uses metaphors and physical presences by combining sound, light and imposing sculptures, often evoking an unsettling feeling. In her upcoming solo exhibition, she focuses on the reciprocal relationship between humans and their environment. [Source (Original or ML Translation): Stedelijk Museum]
