Showcasing up and coming design talent, Lichting has been part of Amsterdam Fashion Week for nearly two decades. Each year, ten finalists from the seven Dutch fashion academies present their collections -- competing for the opportunity to show at next year's Fashion Week (as well as an impressive monetary prize).

Lichting 2024 was dazzling. Yet it was the show’s opener that left the deepest impression on me. Lichting 2023 winner Yousra Razine Mahrah blessed us with her latest collection, Kabouda. The designs were striking and her inspirations bring the pieces even more to life. Mahrah's designs are fashion as personal journeying, fashion as self-discovery. Her designs explore the complexities of her identity -- from her traditional Moroccan upbringing to the daily experiences of being a Moroccan woman in the Netherlands. This fluidity and complexity of cultural identity is something we at Third Circles hold close to our hearts.
