from footy to festival

Look, I completely understand feeling as if summer still hasn't arrived in Amsterdam this year. I even understand worrying that it will never come. But, if you're looking for motivation to go out, then two words: Kwaku Festival.
Kwaku Festival started back in 1975 as a football tournament amongst the residents of the high rise buildings in the Bijlmer neighbourhood. Nearly half a century later, the football is still there (of course!) but the day is also full of music, food, discussion and ... vibes. What's more third circles than celebrating the diversity of cultures and identities in Southeast?
There are still three weekends left (and the Friday night concerts) so check out our events directory to find the details on all of the Kwaku Festival events!
PS - While you're there, be sure to take a stroll around Nelson Mandelapark, one of the most beautiful (and under appreciated) parks in Amsterdam.
