About
Shelter will be coming to Melkweg in 2025 to celebrate the 30th anniversary of their iconic album 'Mantra'. The 1993 record is a milestone in the “Krishna-Core” – a unique blend of hardcore punk and the spiritual teachings of Krishna consciousness. This album not only shaped the hardcore scene, but also inspired a generation that searched for deeper meaning through music.
Ray Cappo, frontman and co-founder of Shelter and Youth of Today, describes the essence of 'Mantra' : “The greatest illusion is to think that we are only our bodies. Mantra reminds us that we are so much more.” This message runs through all of Shelter’s work and reflects their drive to use hardcore not only as an outlet for rebellion, but also for personal reflection and inner growth.
Stockholm hardcore band Speedway will be warming up the venue tonight!
