About
Sun salutations are a fantastic introduction to the physical yoga practice for people who are curious about yoga but don't know where to start. But, wait, what’s a sun salutation?
Sun salutations is the name of a specific sequence of poses commonly practised at the beginning of a yoga class. The sequence contains a variety of poses that are designed to warm up the body for the full practice. Led by a Black female yoga instructor, this 75 minute workshop is a playful exploration of sun salutations for true beginners to yoga. No prior experience or prep is needed.
Step by step, we will break down each of the poses. We also will learn variations to the poses and other ways to adapt each pose to your individual body. We’ll then learn how to use breath and movement to connect the poses together into one flowing sequence.
Please wear clothes that you feel comfortable to move around and sweat in. Bring a bottle of water to stay hydrated. And bring an exercise mat, towel or something similar if you don’t want to put your bare hands and feet on the ground. This will be an outdoor practice. In the event of poor weather, the workshop will be rescheduled and you will have the option for a refund.
